Fundraising: Watermelon Seeds

Alongside our marching and advocacy, we also organise grassroots fundraisers and sell merchandise at festivals, local events, and our own community meet-ups.

Our fundraisers for Palestine are called WATERMELON SEEDS—family-friendly days filled with artivism, craft activities, inspiring talks, delicious food, friends, and music! These gatherings are more than just fundraisers: they’re spaces of joy, solidarity, and resistance.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who contributes—whether by cooking, baking, organising, or lending a hand. Every fundraiser centres multi-species justice. All food and cakes are 100% plant-based, and we do our best to avoid products on the BDS boycott list.

We regularly invite speakers such as Vegan in Palestine (Instagram link) and Plant-based Health Justice (Instagram link). They share vital knowledge about BDS, veganwashing, and the challenges of providing food aid during the genocide.

At our very first Watermelon Seeds event, we raised £609, which was shared between Sulala Animal Rescue and the Vegan for Gaza Campaign.

These small, local gatherings give us the chance to socialise with purpose, to weave community and joy together, and to make a real difference. This is the power of collective action. We warmly welcome artists, singers and musicians, chefs, teachers, and children’s entertainers to get in touch and help us to facilitate more grassroots Watermelon Seeds fundraisers for Palestine and for specific mutual aid drives.
